Top poorest countries in the world 2020

Hi guys, today I decided to make a list of the top poorest countries in the world. This list is base on a GDP(gross domestic product) matrix. These are the counties suffering from poverty. 

We always look for the richest countries in the world. But we never really care about the poorest countries. Among these lists of poor countries, some of them are suffering from war, poverty, and many things. 


1. Burundi

Burundi is a country of the Africa continent. It is suffering from civil war and poverty. The unemployment rate for Burundi is very high. Their main economy is dependents on agriculture. 

It has a GDP per PPP of $727. Which made Burundi one of the world's poorest countries. 


2. The central African Republic 

Despite it is filled with natural resources such as gold, diamonds, coffee, cotton, crude oil, gas, hydropower, lumber. It is 2nd poorest country in the world with a GDP per PPP of $823. 

The Central African Republic is dealing with corruption, violence, human rights violation as well as poverty. 


3. The Democratic Republic of the Congo

Their main economy is based on agriculture. Mostly corps such as coffee, palm oil, rubber, cotton, sugar, tea, and cocoa. Food crops include cassava, plantains, maize, groundnuts, and rice.

It has a GDP per PPP at $849. This country has low unemployment. It has suffered from war and poverty. Not to mention political corruption. 


4. Eritrea

Eritrea is filled with resources such as copper, gold, granite, marble, and potash. However, this country suffered from war and poverty. 

It has a GDP per PPP of $1,060. The main source of economy is agriculture and mining. 

Despite the natural resources this country has low-quality living. Living populations are below the poverty line.

5. Niger

Niger's main economy is based on agriculture mostly corps and livestock. This country is suffering from poverty, drought, desertification as well as disease This country has the world's largest uranium deposit. 

Niger has GDP per PPP of $1,106. Their population is increasing day by day. A large population is living on a small scale of agriculture. 


6. Malawi

Their main economy is based on agricultural products such as tobacco, tea, cotton, groundnuts, sugar, and coffee. Despite the economic growth and high employment rate, this country is one of the poorest countries in the. 

It is suffering from natural climate shocks. They have GDP per PPP of $1,240. This country is also suffering from many diseases such as HIV/AIDS, lower respiratory infection, P. falciparum malaria, diarrhoeal diseases. 


7. Mozambique

This country is one of the underdeveloped countries in the world. Mozambique's economy is based on agricultural and traditional market economy systems. 

They also have industries of food, beverages, chemicals, petroleum products, textiles, cement, glass, asbestos, as well as tobacco. 

It has a GDP per PPP of $1,303. This country has a large population living below the poverty line. 


8. Liberia

Liberia is an underdeveloped country. Its economy is mostly agriculture-based. This country has a very low income and high unemployment rates. Liberia mostly relies on foreign assistants. 

It has a GDP per PPP of $1,414. Liberia suffered from civil war. The poverty rate in this country is very high. 


9. South Sudan

This country is dependent on oil and agriculture. South Sudan has a lack of natural resources. It is one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. It has a GDP per PPP of $1.602.

South Sudan has a very low quality of living and very poor welfare. Not to mention this country has political instability and internal conflict. Also one of the most corrupted countries in the Africa continent. 


10. Sierra Leon

Sierra Leon is an underdeveloped country. Their main economy is agricultural products and natural resources. Everyone knows Sierra Leon is known for rich diamonds. However, their economy is poor. 

This country suffered from civil war and recovering slowly. It has a GDP per PPP of $1,690. This country has a high rate of corruption at all levels. 


11. Madagascar

This country may be one of the poorest but it has a great agricultural environment because of soil types and climate diversity. It is the 4th largest land in the world. It has a GDP per PPP of $1,699.

Deforestation, habitat destruction, Agricultural fires. Erosion and soil degradation is a common problem in Madagascar. 


12. Togo

Poverty hit Togo very hard. It is one of the poorest countries in the world. The living population of Togo is below the poverty line. Togo has GDP per PPP of $1,826. It has poor governance and human rights issues. 

This country suffering from many diseases as well as violence, corruption, and human trafficking. 


13. Haiti

Haiti is a poor country suffering from poverty, violence, corruption, and natural disasters. It has a very low level of education. Haiti has a free-market economy but very low labor costs. It has a GDP per PPP of $18,78.

Haiti is an underdeveloped country with a lot of population. Most of the population lives in poverty. 


14. Guinea-Bissau

Guinea is a very poor country. The population living in the guinea is below the poverty line. Most of the population suffering from chronic malnutrition. 

This country has the most unstable government. It has a GDP per PPP of $2,019. This country has a very low level of living. Their economy is based on agricultural products and livestock. 


15. Burkina Faso

Their main economy is based on farming and livestock raising. This country has a reserve of natural resources such as gold. It suffered from drought. 

Their GDP per PPP of $2,077. This country has a very low-income rate. Most of the population is living below the poverty line. It has a high rate of terrorism, crime, as well as kidnapping.
